Tara McGee is an Associate Professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University, and a Member of the Griffith Criminology Institute. She is the current President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology (ANZSOC; 2017-2020). Tara’s research seeks to build our understanding of the development of antisocial behaviour and offending over the life course. She is a former ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Awardee in which she tested developmental and life-course theories of crime to understand why people start and stop offending, while taking into consideration the impact of situational and contextual factors. Her more recent work has sort to translate research in practice, specifically in the field of Prevention Science. She works with NGOs and government departments implementing developmental crime prevention programs and investigating their effectiveness.
